Carol Corey joined the teaching staff at Crescendo Academy of Music in 1996. She was a member of the Battle Creek Symphony Orchestra Viola Section from 1994-2009, and she currently plays with the Kalamazoo Philharmonia.
In addition to teaching lessons, Carol Corey is employed by the Kalamazoo Junior Symphony Society. She began her tenure with the KJSS in 1995 when she was offered an Internship with their Prep Strings and Training Orchestras. She is currently the KJSS Ensemble Director, Librarian and Operations Coordinator. As Ensemble Director she coordinates their five small ensembles and takes them out into the community performing programs at area schools, local nursing homes, Boys & Girls Clubs, and Communities in Schools Sites. She is also responsible for taking care of the music needs for their nine performing groups. As Operations Coordinator, she works behind the scenes making sure that programs run smoothly all year long. Since the summer of 1999 she has been coaching string quartets at Chamber Music Workshop, a local week long summer music camp. In 2011 she joined the Portage Northern Band Program as their Operations Coordinator.
Carol resides in Kalamazoo with her husband and three children.
