The Irving S. Gilmore International Keyboard Festival based in Kalamazoo, Michigan is internationally recognized as America’s most prestigious piano music festival. Now in its 22nd year, nearly 100 events showcase some of the most notable and accomplished pianists and keyboard musicians in the world along with artists just emerging on the international stage.

2012 Stulberg International String Competition

Saturday, May 19 – Stulberg Competition. The Semifinals are from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Finals and Awards are from 8:00 p.m. in the Dalton Recital Hall.

Sunday, May 20 – Stulberg Competition Master Classes.  The clinicians are Rachel Bartom Pine (violin), Roland Vamos (viola), and Matt Haimovitz (cello).

Spring Music Together Classes

Spring Music Together classes begin the week of April 9th. Scheduled classes are Tuesday at 10 am at Excel Dance Centre (6675 W. Q Avenue); and Thursday at 5 and 6 pm and Friday at 9:30 am at Crescendo Academy of Music.

KSO Youth Soloist Competition

November 28, 2011 The Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra is now currently accepting audition registrations for our Youth Soloist competition. Auditions will take place on January 28 at K College, Light Fine Arts Building for K-12 students. Winners of this competition will perform their solos with the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra on stage at the KSO Youth Concerts!

Crescendo Trio in Concert

October 31, 2011 The Crescendo Trio, Sarah Hedlund (violin), Luke Cook (cello) and Mark Portolese (piano) will be performing a benefit concert to support the Kalamazoo Philharmonia on Sunday, November 13, 2 PM at the Fine Arts Building at Kalamazoo College. The concert will feature the music of Bolcom, Brahms, and Schubert. More information about the Kalamazoo Philharmonia can be found here.
