Alexander Technique Workshops

May 1, 2016 – Crescendo Academy of Music will be hosting a workshop in Alexander Technique on Friday and Saturday, May 20 and 21 at our Epic Center Studios. Amanda Blair MacDonald, AmSat certified Alexander Technique Teacher, will be facilitating this workshop.

What is the Alexander Technique?

The Alexander Technique is an educational awareness technique that helps you become conscious of habitual pressure and tension that get in the way of your optimal functioning. Through gentle movement guided by your teacher you become aware of these habits enough to gain conscious control over them.  You learn to make choices during your day that help you sit and move more easily, breathe more freely, and feel less anxious and stressed.  As you gain mastery over your habits you can apply the technique to everything you do.

We are offering a special rate of $25 for the introductory workshop and $30 for the small group workshop to area musicians. Space is limited, so register early. Please contact the office at 269-345-6664 to register.

The preliminary schedule is below. You must attend a one of the introductory workshops in order to attend a small group workshop. Private sessions are also available; and need to be scheduled directly with Amanda.
