Molly Bendrick

Flute / Music Together

Molly  promotes a well-rounded flute education. Starting her flute studio in 2014, she has taught in Kansas, Pennsylvania, and Michigan. She is proud of her students, who have achieved principal chair positions, made it into district, state, and honor bands, and have also received superior ratings at solo festivals. She has also been a part of Topeka Youth Flute Choirs, where she was Assistant Conductor for the years of 2014-2016.

Molly is an advocate for promoting new contemporary music which pushes the musician to new levels. In 2019, she commissioned the piece ‘Progressively Smaller TV’s’ by Kristopher Bendrick, a solo piece for flute, voice, and piano. ‘Progressively Smaller TV’s’ received the Franklin G. Fisk Award in 2020 and the SEAMUS ASCAP Award in 2022. Molly is also the flutist and a founding member for Found Sound New Music Ensemble. As a soloist, she was a performer for the Beyond The Masterclass in 2016 where she performed for Jim Walker and Denis Bouriakov. In 2014 she was a semi-finalist for the NAFTZGER Young Artist Competition.

Molly, a Kansas native, holds degrees from Washburn University in Topeka, KS, and Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, MI. Her flute studies were with Geri Turvey, Dr. Rebecca Meador, Dr. Martha Councell-Vargas, and Jeff Zook.
