Music Together® Classes

What is Music Together®? An internationally recognized early childhood music program offering 45 minutes of pure musical fun for you and your child each week. Music Together teaching artists have backgrounds in music, education, child development, and/or music therapy. Our teachers have a minimum of 32 hours of training and one-on-one mentoring and attend workshops throughout the year. You’ll receive song downloads, songbooks, web resources and more while our teaching artists introduce your family to the pleasures of making music in a relaxed, playful, non-performance-oriented setting.

Each 2024-2025 session focuses on a different song collection:

  • 10-week fall session September 9 – November 16; Fiddle and Hippo collections
  • 3-week interim session December 2 – December 21; Music Together Family Favorites Holiday Session
  • 10-week winter session January 6 – March 15; Drum and Tiger collections
  • 10-week spring session April 7 – June 14; Tambourine and Toucan collections
  • 6-week 2025 summer session starts in June

General Registration for the Holiday and Winter sessions opens November 1st!

Payment policy:  A deposit of $50 is required to hold your spot in a Music Together class. Class fees must be paid IN FULL one week prior to the session start date. Contact the office if you need a payment plan. Class withdrawals made two or more weeks prior to the start of the session may receive a full refund. Withdrawals made less than two weeks before the session starts will be refunded the amount paid minus a $25 administrative fee. Tuition cannot be refunded after classes begin. Only two missed classes can be made up each session if space is available; arrangements to make up a missed class can be made with the class instructor.

Music Together® Mixed Age Classes

Music Together® Mixed Age classes are for children from birth through age 5 and their parent(s) or caregiver. The Music Together® award-winning curriculum is used in a playful, developmentally appropriate environment that utilizes singing, moving, playing instruments, and making music in a fun 45-minute class. This type of music-making is shown to enhance higher-order thinking skills in our children, supporting all learning and providing an opportunity for children to attain basic music competence before learning an instrument.

Class Session:

In the Drum collection, your little ones will love jumping and hiding in “John the Rabbit” and “Sneak and Peek.” You’ll all be mesmerized by the beautiful lullaby, “Arroró, mi niño” and enjoy the catchy rhythms of “Jim Jam Drummer.” In addition to ten weekly classes, tuition includes audio recordings to play at home and on the go, a colorful illustrated family songbook, and resources with bonus music-making ideas to try at home.

The fee for the 10-week session Mixed Ages class is $195.00 for the first student, $120.00 for the second student; one sibling under 12 months old is free with paid tuition. Two missed classes can be made up each session if space is available; arrangements to make up a missed class can be made with the class instructor.

Music Together® Rhythm Kids

Instructor: Melissa Ludwa

Rhythm Kids classes are for ages 4-6 and an adult. Your child will have a great time drumming, singing, moving to new rhythms and engaging in and exploring other instruments, unique music activities, and music games especially designed for older children.

Class Session:

This semester, we’ll explore the Tiger Rhythm with drumming patterns from Mali and India. Children will discover the enchantment of Indian music through the song “Chandamaame Raave” and even learn to sing a verse in Telugu! We’ll explore conducting, improvisation, and partner activities with “Don Alfredo baila,” “Ticking and Tocking,” “Everybody Loves Saturday Night” and more! “Tiger, Tigress in the Night” will delight children with imaginative play, drumming, and dancing. And with “Tiger Tracks,” we’ll get to prowl and growl as we follow a tiger through his day.

Important note: There will be djembe drums used in this class; we will provide instruments for use during class time. It is encouraged, but not required, that your child have a djembe drum to use at home. If you need an appropriate drum, we will have a high-quality djembe drum for purchase, or you may make your own arrangements for a drum.

Holiday Hits Family Favorites Interim Session

What would the holidays be without music? Join us for 3 weeks as we celebrate the holiday season with Music Together Family Favorites and our favorite holiday songs! Just like regular Music Together classes, we will sing, dance, and play to well-loved tunes that bring out the child in all of us.

This special 3-week session runs from Dec 2 – Dec 21.

Music Together® Babies

Babies love music and are primed to be music-makers from an early age. 

Babies love music. This will come as no surprise to you if you’ve ever soothed your newborn to sleep with a lullaby or bounced him to the beat of your favorite song. But did you know your son or daughter is also a natural music–maker? It’s true: We are each born equipped to respond to music from a remarkably early age; there is a lot you can do to nurture your new little musician. Making music together from the very beginning will lead to a lifetime of shared musical enjoyment. The Music Together® Babies Class will start you on the path to becoming a musical family. Specifically designed for infants eight months and younger, this 10-week introduction to Music Together allows babies to embrace, enjoy, and express their inborn musicality.
